West Innes Animal Hospital

My dog developed a growth on her leg that was getting bigger until it burst. I brought her in and the vet cleaned it up and gave medication for it. I was told if it got worse to take her to the south side office, but if it didn't, to bring her in Friday morning at 7:30am for surgery. I got there on time and was told that nothing was scheduled for her and was being gas lighted into thinking I imagined the whole thing. I'll never go back to these people because they can't be trusted with something as important as surgery, imagine if it's something minor

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this veterinary office. During check-in, the receptionist confused my pets' records—even though one is a cat and the other is a dog. Only bringing the dog for this visit. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or trying to resolve it politely, she immediately became rude and acted as though the error was somehow my fault. Customer service should involve listening to clients and handling errors professionally, not responding with an attitude. Throughout the interaction, she had a clear "I hate my job" attitude. She repeatedly huffed, sighed, and acted visibly annoyed whenever I asked simple, routine questions. Instead of making me feel welcome or helping resolve the confusion, she made me feel like I was inconveniencing her just by being there. The front desk is the first impression clients have of a veterinary practice, and unfortunately, her behavior set a very negative tone. Compassion, patience, and professionalism are essential when working with pet owners, and none of those qualities were reflected in my visit. I sincerely hope the clinic addresses this, as no client should feel disrespected or dismissed simply for asking questions or because of a error on her part. To make matters worse...During our visit, I was shocked to see used needles left sitting in an open sharps container with needles protruding from the top, making them easily accessible. There was also what appeared to be a dirty grooming/flea comb with hair and debris still in it. I personally think the comb needs to be cleaned between clients. This raised serious concerns about cleanliness, infection control, and overall safety in an environment that should maintain the highest sanitation standards. I understand that veterinary clinics can be busy, but basic cleanliness, proper handling of sharps, and respectful communication are not optional. I sincerely hope the clinic addresses these issues because they affect both client confidence and patient safety. With all that being said, Dr Miller is a great veterinarian. Hopefully improvements can be made.

Staff is very nice nice and helpful!
