The Cat Hospital Of Durham And Chapel Hill

Everyone here makes me feel like they love my cat! They are always passionate and patient with him, he can be a handful!

There are times in life when one must say, “enough”. Today is one of those times. I called to schedule a lab to check my cat’s thyroid levels. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a year ago and has been treated daily since. I do not like to leave him, so when asked if I would like to instead receive his annual rabies and yearly physical in a few days, I declined and said I would bring him back in a few weeks so I didn’t have to upset him with another trip to the vet in such a short period of time. And then something that I would have never thought could happen, did. Unbelievable. Today I was told I was putting the clinic in jeopardy, the vet would have to “work through her lunch” (by the Dr.), and that other clients have lied to her about scheduling appointments so it was likely that I would do the same. I have never been so insulted by a medical professional. I was a client of the Cat Hospital under the old ownership beginning in 1997 on Garrett Rd., Durham. My last cat lived to be 20, my current cat is almost 16, and we actually had experimental surgery done in conjunction with an another vet in 2014. I can confidently say that I have spent at least $15,000 with the two organizations, but no more. I’m writing this to show that I have been a loyal customer, and am not cheap when it comes to the care of my pets. These folks care cat about cats; I genuinely believe that. However, as disappointing as it is, I will find a new vet for my cat going forward. I do not take Google reviews lightly, and understand the importance of transparency and accountability. I’m leaving two stars because I made the decision over the years to stay with this organization because of their perceived competence. However, I would hate for anyone to experience what I did. This was not a one-time occurrence. Instead, I consider it the last straw. If anyone (potential clients) would like to reach out to me I encourage you to do so.

I can't say enough kind words about the staff at the Cat Hospital. I've been with them since adopting my cat in 2019 and have always had great experiences. My cat recently needed some complicated dental work done and Dr. Edwards did an excellent job, especially with the follow ups. The whole team has been amazing, and I especially want to thank Ashley and Dana, the office admins, for being so friendly and attentive. Thank you all for taking such great care of my baby!

Our first visit was amazing! So attentive and informative. Catching things that my past ‘cat specialist’ vet in Atlanta missed. Lola loved his goody bag
