Walkertown Veterinary Hospital

Was a much better vet when Dr. Fox was a part of it. I live very close but wouldn't waste my time if you can help it.

These guys are amazing. My dogs love it here as well. They don’t fight me coming in, they even let them clip their nails.

Have been going here for almost 4 years. The young man at the counter does not seem caring. My experience at Walkertown vet has been awful. I can remember being treated much differently in the past. Called to schedule an appointment, I’m not in the system, well you just sent me an email. Scheduled to pick up meds, nobody knows anything. I used to feel comfortable about taking my dogs to them, but now I don’t know.

Had an excellent experience today with fantastic tech Bex: she clipped the toenails of a grumpy old dog who has NOT let anyone do his toenails while awake for years! She cares about animals & people & got our dog’s toes done in record time. What a relief! Thank you!!

I started bringing my pets here when I needed a second opinion on my cat. That visit was great and very informative so of course I moved all my pets over. Since that visit I have gotten a different vet every time I have been in and my experience has gone down hill significantly. I have begun having problems with my senior dog and was made to feel dumb when I brought him in for pain behavior and bouts of vomiting a month ago. This month it got worse so I brought him back here, even though I had not had the best experience, because I thought it would be easier than going somewhere else. They used tests that aren’t the best and never mentioned that there could be other tests done for more money or elsewhere. As I kept asking questions to try and understand my dogs diagnosis the vet got up and moved closer and closer to the door before making an excuse to leave and never coming back. I was not told what to look out for or even given a chance to talk to my vet about quality of life before he left and had to fight to get my dog pain meds that would work with the diagnosis given. Things got worse and I decided to take my dog elsewhere, they did the better tests and answered all my questions and we figured out that my dog was wrongly diagnosed. He is now hospitalized for either a major kidney infection or kidney failure. Something he was dealing with for at least a week that has caused major pain, all because I had been treated badly last month and thought this was also no big deal. This is not the first vet to do this, please get a second opinion and listen to your pets. Walkertown is corporate owned and while some vets here might care they are not given the resources and support to care for your pets like they should. Save your money and go somewhere else that they will do things properly and talk to you like a human being.
