South Granville Animal Hospital

I would not recommend bringing your pet here for surgery. I brought my cat in to be neutered, and when we took him home, the surgical area was extremely swollen and there was still blood around the incision. He looked very uncomfortable for several days afterward, even though he was taking pain medication. It was very upsetting to see him in that condition after what should have been a routine procedure. Based on our experience, I would not feel comfortable bringing one of my pets back here for surgery.

We’ve always had good experiences at this clinic, and we absolutely love Dr. Dudley. Their prices are also very reasonable, and the technician who helped with my cat Tom during this visit was wonderful with him. Unfortunately, our experience with the new doctor (Dr. Corbyn) was very different. Tom is an extremely sweet cat and has never bitten anyone. He was already a little nervous being at the vet, and when he meowed, the doctor became so startled that he jumped back and hit the cabinets behind him. The sudden reaction and noise scared Tom even more and made him noticeably uncomfortable for the rest of the visit. I completely understand that animals can sometimes be unpredictable, but I want my veterinarian to feel calm and confident around my pets, especially when they are already nervous. I would still recommend this clinic because we’ve had great experiences here and their prices are very reasonable, but personally, I will not schedule another appointment with this particular doctor. I would absolutely recommend requesting Dr. Dudley — she has been amazing with our Tom.

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. I do want to say that the technicians are amazing, and the receptionist has always been extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Corbin was very disappointing. My Chihuahua can definitely be spicy and a bit of a handful, and I completely understand that a muzzle may be necessary to keep everyone safe. I have never had an issue with the staff handling him before or doing what needed to be done. However, during this visit, I felt like Dr. Corbin simply did not understand how to properly approach or handle my dog. He repeatedly mentioned that he is Fear Free certified, but the experience itself did not feel very Fear Free to me. Having a difficult or fearful pet requires patience, understanding, and knowing how to adjust your approach to that individual animal. Unfortunately, I did not feel that happened during our visit.

Nice ppl my Yorkie actually likes going there. Go figure😉😉
